    1.Go to:
    http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu

    2.go to ubuntu software center
    Click edit»software sources

    3.go to other software tab and click add

    4.paste this source on the text box: ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa

    5.download wine from the software center (make sure its from the same source as the one in step 4)

    or download and open the program from the website (look at step 1) and scroll to the installing wine...section and install the first one on the list

    6.open a exe file (not all files can be opened or stable)

    you could also use the old version that is already in the ubuntu version (not recomendet) or if you prefer a copy/paste version for terminal from the winehq repository (which saves work ):

    stable version
    Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install wine1.2
    beta version
    Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install wine1.3
    compatibility database:
    http://appdb.winehq.org/

      After adding the Wine repository, you should also install the package "winetricks".
      It lets you do a lot of important things, like installing DirectX, which is required by pretty much all games. Installing DirectX using winetricks generally gives better results and better performance than relying on the DirectX surrogates that come with Wine.
      Winetricks can still do many other things, like installing runtimes. Run winetricks without parameters for a list of avaiable packages. More info here:
